Company History

"The business side of my practice isn’t succeeding the way I expected it to, and it’s affecting my professional and personal finances. I don’t have a clue how to fix it, but you understand business and finance. Can you help me?"

These words were spoken over 20 years ago by a seemingly successful dentist to his trusted friend, successful businessman Bill Flintom. After giving the matter considerable thought, Bill replied that he would agree to help his friend get his finances in order, but with one condition: the doctor would have to embrace a new mindset that would facilitate a resolution of the problem, and reject the old mindset that created the problem. He agreed, and Bill proceeded to effectively act as the doctor’s professional and personal chief financial officer, or CFO. In short order, he redefined the doctor’s financial life both professionally and personally. Today, that doctor and his wife now live very comfortably on a retirement portfolio that would never have been possible had these changes not been made.

Soon after Bill’s program started showing results, the hugely relieved and grateful doctor started telling other financially-challenged dentists about this life-changing experience. So many of these dentists approached Bill asking for help that in 1988 he founded Practice Enhancement Group, Inc. or PEG.

Bill’s vision was to not only help each client gain control of their business and personal finances, but to help them modify their perspective and behavior with respect to money to ensure successful financial decision-making for their practice and their family.

Today, 20 years and over 250 clients later, PEG is still the only company of its kind serving the dental community. PEG, now run by Bill’s son, Rob, manages more than $100 million annually in client practice and personal finances through a division of the company called Concierge Cash Management™.

PEG's success is evident in an exceptionally high client retention rate and the dramatic impact its team has on its clients’ financial peace of mind. The key is that the Flintoms do not simply present theoretical concepts to their clients; rather, they preach what they themselves practice at home and at work.

In addition to assisting clients with their daily financial management needs, PEG has also developed extensive expertise in assisting clients with one-time or infrequent financial events, such as purchasing or selling a practice, renegotiating leases, and evaluating whether to add a new partner or associate. These special services are now provided by a designated Consulting group.

Recently, PEG decided to share its unique financial expertise with dental practitioners who want to enhance the performance of their practice but who do not require the intimate, family-related financial services provided to PEG's Concierge Cash Management clients. The challenge was to develop a cost-effective means of interacting with these new clients while maintaining PEG's founding spirit of coaching, education, and service. The result: an exciting new service called cyberCFO™, which effectively provides clients access to a cyber, or online, Chief Financial Officer for a fraction of the cost.
